Senator Hassan to Join Veterans Day Ceremony at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton on Friday and Manchester Veterans Day Parade on Saturday
WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement ahead of Veterans Day:
“On this Veterans Day, we resolve to honor those who confronted great dangers and bore great burdens to keep us safe and free. Our security and liberty are not won without sacrifice, and history, as well as Hamas’s attack on Israel and Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, have taught us that evil is not easily defeated.
“Those of us who haven’t served cannot fully imagine the sacrifices and trials experienced by veterans; the long and painful absences from home and family, and the wounds – both visible and invisible — that can last a lifetime. While we can never fully repay the debt that we owe our nation’s veterans and their families, we can commit to being the kind of country that will honor and do right by them. And work to make our country ever worthy of their service.”
To mark Veterans Day, Senator Hassan will deliver remarks at the Veterans Day Ceremony at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton tomorrow as well as the Manchester Veterans Day parade on Saturday morning.
