New Hampshire Congressional Delegation Honors Fallen Service Members at Memorial Day Event

(Boscawen, NH) – U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH), alongside U.S. Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01), delivered remarks at a Memorial Day event at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen to honor the brave service members who gave their lives serving our country and their families. Photos from today’s event can be found here.

“The New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen is a truly special place to observe Memorial Day and salute service members who gave their life in defense of our nation,” said Senator Shaheen. “Our service members and their families exemplify the very best of the American spirit, and I was honored to join so many Granite Staters today to remember and honor their sacrifices for our country.”

“I was honored to commemorate Memorial Day at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery today and join Granite Staters in showing our gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country,” said Senator Hassan. “The brave men and women who are laid to rest in Boscawen helped keep America safe, secure, and free. I will keep working to support Gold Star families, as well as all service members and veterans.”

“New Hampshire’s service members, veterans, and their families represent the best our state and country have to offer—we owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid,” said Congresswoman Kuster. “As we gather here today to pay our respects, my thoughts are with the brave service members who gave their lives in service to our nation and the loved ones who carry their memory with them every single day. Without them, the values and freedoms we hold most dear would not be possible.”

“Every fallen Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine represents a link in an unbroken chain of service and sacrifice that began at our nation’s founding and continues to this day,” said Congressman Pappas. “Today at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, we paused to honor and pay our respects to the brave service members who lost their lives defending our country and our way of life. The fallen are forever part of our American family, and we must never waiver in honoring them and their families and remembering the tremendous price paid by some for the freedom enjoyed by all. Thank you to the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, VFW, and all of the partners who helped host this meaningful event.”
