GREENLAND – Today, U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan joined health care professionals and volunteers at Lovering Health Center in Greenland to discuss the critical reproductive health care that they provide and the need to support family planning centers in the face of the draft Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and attacks on reproductive freedom in New Hampshire, including the abortion ban and defunding family planning centers.
“All Granite Staters deserve access to comprehensive reproductive health care and family planning services that will enable them to stay healthy and to thrive,” said Senator Hassan. “Unfortunately access to this care is under direct threat in New Hampshire and across the country. That is why I am pushing for increased Title X funding that could directly support Lovering and additional health centers, and I will keep fighting back against partisan, extreme attacks on a woman’s freedom. “
“We are grateful for Senator Hassan’s visit to Lovering Health Center today, especially at a time when reproductive rights are under attack,” said Sandi Denoncour, Executive Director of Lovering Health Center. “Senator Hassan knows that people should be able to make their own health care decisions – not politicians -- and our job at Lovering is to make sure that our patients can be in control of their own bodies and access critical reproductive health care.”
Senator Hassan is focused on protecting reproductive freedom, voting to enshrine Roe v. Wade into law and speaking out about what’s at stake for women’s reproductive health in New Hampshire if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. Senator Hassan has also fought to secure Title X family planning funding for New Hampshire and leads efforts in the Senate to increase funding for Title X.
