Senator Hassan and Laura Landerman-Garber of Hollis Participate in Annual Holiday Cards 4 Our Military Challenge

NEW HAMPSHIRE – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan joined Laura Landerman-Garber of Hollis, founder of the Holiday Cards for our Military Challenge, along with Air Force Lt. Col JJ Johnson and members of Senator Hassan’s staff, to make cards that will be sent to members of the military this holiday season. Last summer, Senator Hassan joined Dr. Landerman-Garber in establishing a new program, Cards 2 Connect, which helped to spread joy to New Hampshire veterans who were unable to see their loved ones due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The card challenge is something that I look forward to every year,” said Senator Hassan. “I am grateful for Laura’s continued leadership and commitment to making sure that our service members are not forgotten during the holiday season and I am delighted that Lt. Col. JJ Johnson was able to join us for this year’s card writing session. It is always a pleasure to set aside time to honor those who are protecting us abroad and I encourage all Granite Staters to send a card to our service members this holiday season.”

“From Day #1, Senator Hassan and her Staff have been integral partners on the Holiday Card Challenge journey!” said Dr. Landerman-Garber. “From the Granite State to our Nation’s Capitol,  I honor their dedication and commitment to our Troops, Veterans, and Military Families. Whether it is answering questions, providing resources, or signing hundreds of holiday cards for our Warriors, Team Hassan has always been gracious and generous with their time and energy. Sending over ½ million cards to the Men and Women in Uniform who protect our freedoms is a shared passion that started in New Hampshire but has spread throughout all 50 States. Working with Senator Hassan over the last year to develop the #cards2connect Challenge has allowed us to send 10,000 cards of care to our Troops, Veterans, Service Families, and specifically  to our National Guard  who have been central in rolling out the COVID vaccines. It is always a “holly jolly” time to collaborate with Team Hassan! #everycardcounts.”
