Senator Hassan Meets with Secretary of Commerce Nominee Wilbur Ross

WASHINGTON -- Today, Senator Maggie Hassan met with Wilbur Ross, who is President-elect Donald Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Commerce. As a member of the Commerce, Science & Transportation Committee, Senator Hassan will participate in hearings on Mr. Ross' nomination.

"I appreciated the opportunity to sit down with Mr. Ross and learn more about his plans for how we can protect and expand American manufacturing while strengthening our workforce and ensuring that these businesses can thrive in a 21st century economy. We also discussed the importance of Commerce Department programs that are critical to projects like the Littleton River District Redevelopment Project.

"While our conversation was productive, I remain concerned that Mr. Ross' ethics report is still pending, and I believe we must have full information on his business dealings and potential conflicts of interest before his nomination moves forward."
