Senator Hassan on Secretary Price’s Taxpayer-Funded Private Jet Trips

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement on reports that U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price broke with department precedent and took five taxpayer-funded private jet trips last week:

“There could not be a clearer statement of the Trump Administration’s priorities than Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price spending taxpayer dollars to fly himself around on a private jet - including a $25,000 trip for the 125 miles from Washington to Philadelphia - while pushing a Trumpcare plan that would raise health care costs and rip coverage away from millions of taxpayers. It is critical that we not only stop this latest Trumpcare plan in its tracks, but that we also investigate this gross misuse of taxpayer dollars.”
