MANCHESTER – Senator Maggie Hassan today participated in the annual New Hampshire Small Business Matchmaker event, where she spoke to representatives of small businesses and their counterparts in state and federal agencies, discussing the importance of building a stronger workforce and ensuring that New Hampshire’s innovative small businesses have the resources and opportunities that they need to thrive.
The annual Matchmaker event provides small businesses interested in government contract work the opportunity to connect with representatives from more than 30 federal and state agencies, as well as prime contractors like BAE and Raytheon. For more information, click here.
“New Hampshire’s innovative small businesses are the backbone of our economy, creating jobs and helping to move our state forward, and we must do more to support their critical work,” Senator Hassan said. “The Small Business Matchmaker event is an important opportunity for small businesses to build relationships with government agencies and prime contractors in order to help New Hampshire companies grow and thrive. I’ll keep fighting to ensure that our small businesses have the support and resources they need, including working to build a stronger workforce that meets the needs of our 21st century innovation economy.”
Senator Hassan has consistently made promoting entrepreneurship and supporting small businesses a top priority. This week, Senator Hassan joined her colleagues in calling on Senate Leadership to take action before the end of the year to protect small businesses from red tape resulting from the U.S. Supreme Court’s backward Wayfair decision, which would force Granite State business to collect sales tax for 46 other states. Senator Hassan also recently hosted the Innovate NH Entrepreneurship Forum, which featured interactive workshops for entrepreneurs from across the state.
