Senator Hassan Recognizes Erik Becker of Lancaster as August’s Granite Stater of the Month

WASHINGTON – Senator Hassan recognized Erik Becker of Lancaster as August’s Granite Stater of the Month for his dedication to improving his community and for lending support to those in need.

Erik has taken on a variety of roles in his North Country community, including serving as the Student Assistance Program Coordinator at Groveton High School – where Erik spends 15 hours a week during the summer at the school helping to distribute free lunches to kids in need, while also acting as a “big brother” for students who just need someone to talk to.

Erik also works at the community homeless shelter, where he helps individuals break the cycle of homelessness and get back on their feet. In addition, Erik is a co-founder of the Black Crow Project, which supports individuals struggling with substance misuse. To top off all of this community involvement, Erik also acts as a recovery coach for those battling addiction.

Senator Hassan launched the “Granite Stater of the Month” initiative in 2017 to recognize outstanding New Hampshire citizens who go above and beyond to help their neighbors and make their communities stronger. To nominate a New Hampshire citizen to be a “Granite Stater of the Month,” constituents can complete the nomination form here.
