Senator Hassan Statement Ahead of Memorial Day

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement ahead of Memorial Day:

“On Memorial Day, we come together to honor the generations of brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Throughout our history, as our fellow Americans put on their uniforms and traveled far from home, they knew the risks before them. But beyond those risks, these brave individuals knew that their mission was paramount to our freedom and our democracy. They answered the call to serve all of their fellow citizens. They fought for those with whom they shared much in common, but also for those with whom they had significant differences.  

“On this day and every day, we must stand up for the values that they so valiantly fought for and secured for all of us. I join all Granite Staters and Americans in thanking veterans, service members, and their families for their dedicated service to our country, and I pledge to continue working to ensure that they have the care and support that they need and have earned.”

Over Memorial Day weekend, Senator Hassan will deliver remarks at the Memorial Day ceremony at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, as well as give remarks at the Field of Honor event in Rochester.
