Senator Hassan Statement on 2018 Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Economic Impact Report

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement today on the 2018 Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Economic Impact Report:

“In addition to strengthening our national security and helping to ensure that the U.S. Navy can successfully carry out its missions around the world, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is integral to the economic vitality of the Seacoast region and our entire state. I will always fight to ensure that the men and women at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard have the consistent and reliable federal resources they need to continue their important work. As part of those efforts, I remain deeply concerned that the Trump Administration is considering stripping funding that’s intended for construction projects at the Shipyard as part of the President’s unconstitutional emergency declaration, and I’ll keep doing everything in my power to protect this funding.”
