Senator Hassan Statement on Court Order Delaying Deportation of Indonesian Community Members

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement after Chief Judge Patti Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts issued an order delaying the deportation of New Hampshire’s Indonesian community members in order to give them time to make their legal case:

“Today’s order giving members of the New Hampshire Indonesian community time to make their legal case is an encouraging step in ensuring that these Granite Staters can continue to remain in their Seacoast community. Many of these individuals came to our country fleeing religious persecution, and they have worked, paid taxes, and raised their families in the Seacoast. It is long past time that the Trump Administration drop its misguided efforts to prioritize the deportation of these families.”
