WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement after the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced the departure of Alfred Montoya, Jr. from the Manchester VA Medical Center, where he is serving as director. Montoya had previously served as director of the White River Junction VA Medical Center.
“Al Montoya’s leadership at the Manchester VA Medical Center has been central to the progress that we have seen within the organization to ensure that veterans are receiving the care that they need and have earned. His can-do attitude and commitment to providing high-quality care to Granite State veterans will be greatly missed, and the next director will have extremely large shoes to fill. I am so grateful for Al and the work he has done for veterans, their families, and our state, and I wish him all the best in his future pursuits.”
