Senator Hassan Statement on Her Vote Against Senate Budget Resolution to Repeal Health Coverage from Tens of Thousands of Granite Staters

WASHINGTON - Senator Hassan released the following statement on her vote against the Senate budget resolution, which would take away health coverage from millions of Americans, including over 50,000 Granite Staters:

"Last night, on behalf of the tens thousands of New Hampshire residents who finally have access to health care - including those struggling with addiction who now have access to treatment - I voted no on a plan by Washington Republicans to strip away health insurance coverage without a replacement. I have repeatedly joined my colleagues in expressing our desire to work together across the aisle on common-sense improvements to the Affordable Care Act, but unfortunately Republican leadership put partisanship ahead of the people we were elected to represent."

"Throughout the course of the debate, I cast votes to protect New Hampshire's bipartisan Medicaid expansion plan, support efforts to combat the substance abuse crisis, lower prescription drug prices, and safeguard Social Security and Medicare. While the results of last night's votes are disappointing, I will continue to fight on behalf of the people of New Hampshire and oppose any attempt to take away health insurance coverage or make it more expensive."
