Senator Hassan Statement on Nomination of Kirstjen Nielsen to be Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan, member of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released the following statement after President Trump announced Kirstjen Nielsen as his nominee for Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security:

“As our country continues to face ever-evolving threats posed by terrorism, cyber criminals, drug trafficking organizations, natural disasters, and more, it is critical that we have a leader at the Department of Homeland Security with the qualifications and experience necessary to keep Granite Staters and Americans safe.
