WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement after voting against Eugene Scalia’s nomination for Secretary of the Department of Labor in the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions:
“From fighting to undermine protections in the Americans with Disabilities Act, to chipping away at health and safety regulations in the workplace, Mr. Scalia has consistently stood on the wrong side of workers’ best interests. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to oppose Mr. Scalia’s nomination and prevent someone who has a consistent record of standing up for corporate special interests from leading the federal department charged with protecting the rights of workers.”
