Senator Hassan Statement on Passing of Dr. Ed Kois

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement on the passing of Dr. William “Ed” Kois, who led the Manchester VA Medical Center’s Spinal Cord Clinic and served as one of the lead whistleblowers regarding conditions at the Manchester VAMC in 2017:

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Kois, who was dedicated to serving the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to keep us safe, secure, and free. Dr. Kois was relentless in working to ensure that New Hampshire veterans receive the highest quality care, and I am very grateful for his efforts. While the Manchester VA Medical Center will not be the same without him, we must all continue his work to ensure that the VA lives up to the promises we have made to our veterans and their families. I offer my condolences to his family and loved ones.”
