WASHINGTON –Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement after President Trump yesterday signed the bipartisan Veterans Appeals Improvement and Modernization Act into law. Earlier this year, Senator Hassan joined Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and others in introducing the bipartisan bill to help reduce wait times and improve the process for New Hampshire and America’s veterans seeking benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
“Far too many New Hampshire veterans have had issues with the slow, inefficient, and complicated VA appeals process, which is why I helped introduce the bipartisan Veterans Appeals Improvement and Modernization Act to help reduce wait times and improve the process for veterans seeking benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. I am pleased the President has signed this important bill into law so that our brave veterans who have sacrificed for our country can better access the resources they need to thrive in civilian life. I will continue working across the aisle to ensure that our veterans and their families have the support they deserve and to continue building an even stronger America that is ever worthy of their service.”
