Senator Hassan Statement on President Trump’s Nomination of Scott Murray as U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan issued the following statement today after President Trump announced the nomination of Merrimack County Attorney Scott Murray to serve as the U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire:

“I appreciate that President Trump has put forward a nominee to serve as the U.S. Attorney for New Hampshire. Scott Murray has a long history of service to the City of Concord and Merrimack County, and I look forward to speaking with him about his interest in and ideas for this critical new role. I also look forward to discussing a variety of issues with Mr. Murray, including the importance of prosecuting drug dealers and the role of drug courts, which are both integral to our comprehensive approach to combating the fentanyl, heroin, and opioid epidemic that is devastating communities and businesses across the Granite State. ”
