Senator Hassan Statement on Retirement of Department of Safety Commissioner John Barthelmes

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement on the retirement of New Hampshire Department of Safety Commissioner John Barthelmes. Then-Governor Hassan served with Commissioner Barthelmes and re-appointed him to lead the Department of Safety.

“Our people are safer and are communities are stronger because of Commissioner Barthelmes’s years of distinguished service. It was a tremendous honor to serve with John, and his departure will be deeply felt throughout the entire state. On behalf of the people of New Hampshire, I extend my profound thanks to John and wish my dear friend well in whatever comes next.”
