Senator Hassan Statement on U.S. Military Strikes in Syria

WASHINGTON - Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement on the U.S. military strikes in Syria:

"The U.S. military strikes against the Syrian airfield where Assad launched chemical weapons attacks against innocent civilians represent an appropriate response, sending a clear message that America will not tolerate barbaric acts against humanity. I am also grateful for the skill and professionalism with which our service members carried out their mission.

"The President must now consult with Congress and engage our international allies before further escalating the U.S. military's engagement in the Syrian conflict. I urge the Trump Administration to outline to the American people a clear, comprehensive strategy that includes a path to a post-Assad political solution and that addresses Russia's continued support of the brutal dictator."
