Senator Hassan to Serve as Ranking Member of Senate Finance Subcommittee on Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Growth

WASHINGTON – Senator Maggie Hassan announced today that she will serve as the Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Growth, allowing her to continue leading on efforts to maintain fiscal responsibility, support job-creating businesses, and expand economic opportunity for hard-working Granite Staters and Americans. Senator Hassan will serve with Chairman of the Subcommittee, Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA).

“I look forward to working across party lines with Senator Cassidy in this role to find innovative ways to encourage fiscal responsibility, make government more efficient, and expand economic opportunity,” Senator Hassan said. “We need to get our country’s fiscal house in order and do more to spur economic growth so that our people and businesses can thrive – and that’s exactly what I’m committed to doing on this subcommittee.”  

During her time as Governor, Senator Hassan enacted two fiscally responsible, balanced budgets that protected critical economic priorities for Granite Staters while holding the line against a sales or an income tax. In addition to the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Hassan also serves on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; and Joint Economic Committee.
