Washington, D.C. - Today, Senator Maggie Hassan released the following statement after voting to confirm South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations:

"While I have some concerns regarding Governor Haley's lack of international diplomatic experience, after reviewing her responses throughout the confirmation process I am satisfied that she will be a strong representative for American values and leadership at the United Nations. I look forward to working with Governor Haley and ensuring that she follows through on her policy promises made at the hearing, including maintaining strong engagement with the U.N. and confronting Russian actions at the U.N. Security Council."
