Shaheen, Hassan Celebrate the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation at 20th Anniversary Women Building Community Luncheon

(Manchester, NH) – Today, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) delivered remarks at the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation’s 20th Anniversary Women Building Community Luncheon. The annual luncheon brings together Granite State women to celebrate the foundation’s work and for inspiration, connection and action. Photos from the luncheon can be found here.

“Throughout my career I’ve often been the only woman in the room and the sole voice addressing how policy will impact women, children and families. With so many women of all ages and generations stepping up to lead, I’m happy that dynamic is changing,” said Senator Shaheen. “This luncheon is a chance to enrich an ever-expanding network of Granite State women supporting each other and finding solutions to common challenges.”

“It was great to be at the Women’s Foundation luncheon today, where we celebrated the strides that we’ve made in women’s leadership and the work still ahead,” said Senator Hassan. “New Hampshire has long been a leader in electing women to political office, but we must continue to build on this progress, particularly now in the aftermath of Roe v. Wade being overturned. Our health and the health of our daughters and granddaughters is at stake, as is their equality and citizenship in the greatest democracy in the world.”

The New Hampshire Women’s Foundation provides a unified voice dedicated to the advancement of gender equality and opportunity for the women and girls of New Hampshire. At the Luncheon, Kathy Beebe was awarded the SHE Change Award in recognition of her work as the executive director of HAVEN, New Hampshire’s largest violence prevention and support services agency.
