Shaheen, Hassan Deliver Remarks & Applaud Senate’s Confirmation of Samantha Elliott to Serve as NH Federal District Court Judge

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) delivered remarks on the Senate floor today before the Senate voted to confirm Samantha Elliott as a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire. She was confirmed on a bipartisan vote of 62-37.

 

Shaheen and Hassan highlighted Elliott’s robust qualifications and extensive legal experience that have garnered widespread support from her peers and the legal community in New Hampshire. They also noted her commitment to justice and impartiality in upholding the law. Elliott currently serves as Vice President of the Concord-based firm, Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, P.C.

Elliott previously served as President of Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, P.C. from 2015-2020. She has represented both plaintiffs and defendants at every level of New Hampshire state court, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. She also has experience in front of the New Hampshire Human Rights Commission and New Hampshire Bureau of Tax and Land Appeals. Through her work at GC&G, she was selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America and New England Super Lawyers. The American Bar Association has rated Elliott as “well-qualified” to serve on the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire.
