SALEM – Following Senators Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen’s announcement of more than $30.6 million in additional vaccine funding coming to New Hampshire through COVID-19 relief bills that they worked to pass into law, Senator Hassan today toured a vaccination distribution site at The Mall at Rockingham Park. The Senator was joined by Perry Plummer, who is leading COVID-19 vaccine distribution efforts in New Hampshire; members of the Salem Fire Department; and members of the New Hampshire National Guard who are helping to run the vaccination site.

“I am really grateful to the National Guard, the Salem Fire Department, and so many others who have stepped up to make these vaccination sites possible,” Senator Hassan said. “We know how important it is to ramp up getting shots into arms to get through this pandemic and get to the other side of it. I was glad to work with Senator Shaheen to secure an additional $30.6 million for New Hampshire so that all of these sites have the resources that they need.”

Senator Hassan has helped secure significant federal funding for New Hampshire’s vaccine distribution efforts, including in Salem. The American Rescue Plan that was recently signed into law includes $160 billion to support public health, and includes a fix pushed by Senator Hassan to address a vaccine funding allocation shortfall for New Hampshire. Senators Hassan and Shaheen announced today that through this fix and the relief packages, New Hampshire will receive an additional $30.6 million in vaccine funding. In addition, Senator Hassan helped secure full reimbursement for the National Guard’s COVID-19 efforts in New Hampshire.
